The purpose of this award is to honor for lifetime achievement rather than for a single contribution, no matter how monumental. Nominees should have a minimum of 40 years of distinguished service to the profession, supporting the mission and goals of Women Band Directors International. This award is managed completely by the Women Band Directors International Foundation.
